Keys go live only after your exchange confirms withdrawals are off, every action is recorded, and stopping is one click. Below: two-factor sign-in for your account.
Authenticator (TOTP)
Two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app is optional and recommended. Secrets are not emailed. When it is on, starting live trading asks for your 6-digit code; without it, your password. Live trading turns on only when you press Start on your desk, after you connect a verified trade-only key and enroll in North Star. We never recommend pairs.
Enroll
Signed-in desks generate a secret once at /desk/security. We do not enable until you verify a code.
Sign in
If 2FA is on, password-only sign-in asks for a code. A pending cookie cannot open the desk.
No SMS
No SMS. No email of the secret. Operator cannot read secrets.
